How The Press
Can Help you
Overview
Are you unsatisfied with your course materials but still trying to figure out what to do? Here are some common problems that faculty identify, along with how Chemeketa Press can help you solve them.
Problem #1:
The book I'm using is too expensive
Problem #2:
All the available books are too complicated, lengthy, or boring for my students
Problem #3:
There isn't a book for my specific course
Problem #4:
I am relying on free, digital materials (which is fine) and students have to print them out to participate fully
Problem #5:
There are serious content concerns (accuracy, diversity, inclusivity, and relevance) with commercial or OER texts
Our books are less than $50 in print and less than $35 in digital.
Using an editorial model based on Universal Design for Learning principles and drawing from Performance Based Learning Outcomes, our books are laser-focused on what students in your course require.
Our books use plain language, inclusive language principles, and real-world examples to keep students reading and engaged.
Our books align with your course outline. We tailor the content to match your learning outcomes while also making it fit other similar courses’ needs to ensure external adoption.
Check out our submission guidelines! We can help you compile your materials into a student-facing lab manual, reader, anthology, or edited volume.
We approach book development with a problem-solving mentality. We help you analyze available texts and their shortcomings. We help you identify your students' needs and what will engage them where they are. Then, we develop an outline, an authorial voice, and ancillary materials to meet their needs. We help you find images, graphics, and sources to support the book’s goals.
