Son historias de vida, donde los protagonistas experimentan realidades complejas de inmigración, violencia, discriminación, y opresión lingüstica. Sin embargo, en una narrativa valiente, marcada por una introspección profunda, hacen de la adversidad, su potencial. Los estudiantes retoman su capital lingüstico y públicamente hacen que sus voces trasciendan y sus historias perduren, como un acto de amor a su lengua materna, en una dinámica de alternancia contacto, hasta de amalgamamiento entre el español y el inglés, lejos de toda supresión. Este libro puede servir para estudios en el campo de ciencias sociales y humanas. También, como material de consulta o de inspiración para profesores y estudiantes que quieran realizar experiencias similares.

Living In Two Languages is a journey through memory, the power of the word, and the capacity for resilience by students in the Spanish for Heritage Speakers at Chemeketa Community College.
