Fifty years of Chemeketa history told in fifty words.
Chemeketa Press and the Courier invite you to join the 50/50 Project in honor of Chemeketa Community College’s 50th anniversary. We want your creative, unique, inspiring, amusing, or thought-provoking anecdotes about what Chemeketa means (or meant) to you! But, there’s a catch… each entry MUST be fifty (50) words exactly. No more, no less.
Make each word count, just like your time at Chemeketa. This challenge is open to students, instructors, and staff (past and present) as well as community members who want to share how the college has impacted them.
How to Submit
- Go to www.tinyurl.com/50-50entry for requirements and to submit your entry.
- Fill out the online form with your contact information, 25-word bio, and connection to Chemeketa.
- Upload your entry as a standard MS Word file (.doc or .docx). Do not include your name anywhere in your file. Your submission will be judged anonymously.
- Entries must be typed in a readable font and must include a title. Please do not submit more than five 50-word entries total.
Deadline for submissions is January 15, 2020. Winners will be notified by the end of February. Only fifty entries will be selected to be published. Chosen authors will receive two copies of the printed book. Each submission will be vetted by our editorial board for approval. We are looking for a diversity of experiences, interesting moments, and vivid details.
This contest is proudly co-sponsored by Chemeketa Press, the independent textbook publishing arm of Chemeketa Community College, and the Courier, Chemeketa’s award-winning student multimedia news service.
